Bird, dada, BIRD!

Today was the first day that Adam actually addressed me by title. Normally he'll just keep saying what he's saying until he get's your attention. Or he'll kind of inform me that I am, in fact, "dada". But today was different.

I was eating my Spongebob macaroni and cheese while Adam was contentedly playing with his toys. I wasn't really paying attention anything. Adam was looking at the trailer portion of his choo-choo train, which has a bird perched on the ledge of it. I kind of heard him saying:

"Bird, bird, bird, bird...."

Apparently he was trying to show me that there was a bird on it, but, as I said, I wasn't really paying attention. So after a few seconds of unsuccessfully getting my attention, he, a little more insistently, says:

"Bird, BIRD dada, BIRD!"

I know it's minor, and he's been addressing his mother for over a month now, but it was a pretty cool thing for a father to hear his son address him... not just point and say "dada", but to actually address him in a conversation.

I just had to give him a great big hug after that.
